The clinical hypnosis methods
of Dave Elman

a talk by Russell Potts

Dave Elman taught the art and science of hypnosis to literally thousands of doctors dentists and psychiatrists, placing him as among the most important figures in the field of clinical hypnotherapy and he is now recognised as one of the most influential figures in 20th century hypnotherapy.

At the James Braid Society's June 2012 monthly meeting Russell Potts both described how and why Elman developed his techniques but demonstrated them as well.

Russell who is becoming a regular favourite with the society, showed very swiftly and effectively how Elman's methods of achieving deep hypnosis could be induced in as little as a minute.

It was this speed of induction which made it ideal for dental and medical procedures even drug free surgery and child birthing being facilitated with the help and skilled application of these hypnotic tools.

In addition to teaching hypnosis for medical and dental procedures Elman used and taught methods for dealing with the underlying source of conditions including stammering, allergies, obesity and non-pathological sexual dysfunction.
