Induction, deepening, intervention, awakening; hypnotherapy books are full of scripts.
The World Wide Web is awash with them. Some may be appropriate for a particular client just as they are. Others may use language we do not like, but are an inspiration for our own hypnotic suggestions.
Where would we be without scripts?
In practice you may use no more than a few cues you keep in your mind. Or you may have developed a form of words you are comfortable with and which you instinctively use with many clients, or just in special circumstances.
The James Braid Society's October 2011 meeting was a chance for hypnotherapists to explain to fellow hypnotherapists how they work and what they think of particular hypnosis scripts.
